The End Of Film? Or… The End Of Digital?

Apologies for the total lack of updates, my health is bad and life is busy and I can’t even remember when I last uploaded any meaningful photographs because of this other than shots I want to link to from various forums for whatever reasons. Maybe I’ll change this, maybe I won’t. Who knows? Heck, even I don’t!
Anyway, I recently bought a very nice Rolleicord Va and when it arrived I obviously wanted to use it ASAP only the 12o film I’d ordered from my usual online supplier (7dayshop.com) had not yet arrived. OK I thought, I’ll get some in the city from a camera shop no problem. After trying several shops and the range being far too limited for my tastes I eventually ended up in a Jessops store as a last hope and to my utter shock managed to obtain a roll of Ilford HP5 120 at a great price for a high street retailer. I got talking to the young man that served me and he asked me what camera I used, I explained I’d just bought the Rolleicord and couldn’t wait to try it out.
He then went on to tell me that he was a college student studying photography and how his fellow students were sick to death of the high price of quality digital DSLR’s and how their tutor had turned their heads towards Medium Format film photography bearing in mind how cheap so many MF cameras go for on eBay. They now owned a variety of cameras from Rollei to Mamiya 7, 645, RB67, Pentax 67 etc, etc and were LOVING IT !!! Even with a reasonable scanner they had soon worked it out that the results were exceptional even from cameras made 50/60+ years ago. How refreshing hearing this from a 17 year old who had learned to think and explore for himself rather than doing what most people do in following the herd!
Made my day anyways!
Bath street shot. Busking.
One of the few sunny day’s we’ve had this year in wonderful Brighton!
Not my purse I assure you!
